Platonic Physical Contact: DEFINITELY! This guy is definitely a hugger, and someone who is completely okay with physical contact. Hand shaking, sudden grabbing, tackling, this guy is prone to it, and probably won't argue if your character does it to him.
Violent Physical Contact: He's a human,but he's hellishly strong. Dangerously, given he's the main character of a Shounen comic series, and with the dozens of different supernatural powers he has access to. I don't mean that he's strong in terms of normal means, either--I mean Luffy is literally the kind of guy who can lift up buildings and throw large, house-shaped boulders(of rock or of pure gold, take your pick) around like they weigh almost nothing. He can break pure stone with his fists and he can literally destroy boats and buildings with a sweep of his legs or arms. His powerset is absolutely INHUMAN and absolutely not exaggerated. This might seem god-modey to a lot of people--but believe me when I say that it's not an exaggeration. If you want to fight, he will fight you--and he'll be determined to win, too.
Mindreading: EXTREMELY SIMPLE MINDED. If your character can read minds, it's very possible Luffy will come up as a near blank, or his thoughts will be so simple that they're not even worth reading. White noise. Thoughts about food constant. AS FOR LUFFY HIMSELF; he has an ability called the OBSERVATION HAKI which allows him to 'read the intentions' of others. He does it mostly on instinct without really thinking about it--but basically he's able to dodge attacks or move out of the way of objects that might be aimed at him. (Up to and including weapons, bullets, thrown objects, oncoming traffic, etc).
IC Personal Boundaries/Warnings: He doesn't mind having his rubber body pinched, poke, or pulled at, but he has a pretty big dislike for people flirting with him or asking him weird questions about his body. He's extremely pure of heart, so getting him to notice your character in a romantic way would be the same as trying to get a fish to climb a tree.
OOC Personal Boundaries/Warnings: I'm only willing to do shipping/nsfw things with people I have been RPing with for a certain period of time.
Other Notes: I play Luffy as mostly Asexual/Aromantic! Sorry, but he loves adventure far more than he'd be interested in relationships or anything of the sort. However, if he does find himself becoming attached to another character, he will be able to admit loving them, such as like a family member or nakama--but it'll take quite a bit of work for him to realise anything more than that. 174cm. Lanky but built, noticeable muscle mass despite his small size.

Nineteen

Head up, back straight, with the gait of confidence. He's going to be the future king one day so he carries himself with pride. He's not better-than-thou with his posture, but he's definitely not some slob.

4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?

Extremely fit. Has a few years taken off his life due to nearly being poisoned to death.

5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?

With a goal in mind. Straightforward, and always with purpose. When walking, there's a spring in his step. When running, it's like a charging bull.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?

Some would say that he looks like a kid, with a face that's far too young to be considered conventionally attractive yet. However, with the fine muscle build that he has(and often shows off with an open shirt) it's clear that he's not bad to look at. However, it's the 'good dog' expression and the weird faces he tends to pull that might make any suitors think twice.

7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?

Tanned, as he's near constantly out in the sun. A large 'X' shaped scar in the middle of his chest, still fresh and reddish in colour. A scar under his eye that he's had since childhood.

8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.

Messy, untamed, and probably unwashed. Dark, probably black, and most definitely in need of a haircut at any given point.

9. What color are his eyes?

Dark brown.

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?

The Straw Hat is always present. Always.

11. What are his chief tension centers?

Shoulders, back.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?

Anything that's easy to move around in. Shirts without sleeves in them, open in the front at any given time. Pants that don't reach past his knees, and maybe a belt/sash for flavour. So long as it's easy to move around in, that's all that matters. Straw Hat always a staple, and sometimes an aviator hat worn underneath it.

13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them?

Extremely. Clothing that is too restricting makes it hard for him to fight properly, after all. How can a man stretch and punch properly with restricting clothes on? Ridiculous.

Yeah, pretty much.

Boxers, if not commando. He's a pirate, screw the rules.

SPEECH

1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?

Youthful, extremely. A pitch higher than most other males his age, and with a cheeky, almost monkey-like playfulness to it.

2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?

Excitedly, loudly, without a lot of care to what he's saying and to whom. Volume control? Fuck that, if there's something he wants to say, he'll say it. And if everyone needs to hear it, he'll say it loud.

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?

He has a tendency to answer people with extremely short sentences. Making noises like 'Maa', 'Na', 'Ara', 'Eeeh', etc. Instead of using actual words. When he laughs, it's an odd sound--Nihishishi. It's a laugh that's mostly unique to him.

4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?

What language do they even speak in the Big Blue. Who fucking knows. Whatever it is, that's it. Nothing else.

5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?

Nope.

6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words?

Says what he wants, when he wants, when he needs to. He's a man of instinct, who actually thinks before they speak? Not Monkey D Luffy, that's for fucking sure.

7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?

Inarticulate and ineloquent. As previously stated, he doesn't change his tone for absolutely anyone. He doesn't care if you're a peasant girl or a Tenryuubito, he'll talk to you as he talks to anyone else. The only time this'll change is if he's angry--his speech would become harsher, louder--or if he's upset, where his words become wobbly due to his crybaby nature making it hard for him to speak and cry at the same time.

MENTAL & EMOTIONAL

1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart?

Have you ever taken the time to speak to someone who doesn't actually use their brain at all? Talk to Monkey D Luffy and you'll cross that one off the bucket list. He's a man who claims 'thinking is painful' and acts more on instinct than absolutely anything else. He's definitely not book smart and he's probably not even street smart--he's like an animal.

2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?

He thinks on his feet. If there's an obstacle or an issue he needs to take care of, he's more likely to follow his instincts and move forward with whatever comes to head first instead of standing back to think out an appropriate plan. It's a good thing he has a great crew--this way of thinking can get a man killed.

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?

Practical, logical. If there's a wall in the way, punch a hole in the wall. Is someone too warm? Make them eat something cold to fix it. His thought process is one that's just straight ahead without taking the time to do much problem-solving. Because holy shit, thinking really makes your temples ache.

4. What kind of education has the character had?

Does being raised in the woods by bandits count as an education.

5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about?

Fighting and Leadership. He doesn't have much time for learning new skills--he's good at what he does, so why dilute that with adding more things? If he needs a new skill, he'll just find someone to join his crew who fits the bill.

6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert?

Extrovert, to the nines. He's someone who admits to getting extremely lonely easily, and to his two brothers--Ace and Sabo--he admitted he'd rather get hurt and have their company than to be unharmed but alone.

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?

Extremely susceptible to mood swings. He can be happy and cheerful one minute, but then be angry and bellowing the next. It all depends on what's happening. Most of the time, he's cheerful and optimistic, and just enjoying the hell out of life. Who has time to be grumpy?

8. Is he more likely to act, or to react?

React. He's completely content to mind his own business and do what he wants--but the minute someone puts a foot over his lines, that's it. You're getting a punch in the teeth.

9. Which is his default: fight or flight?

Fight. Who the fuck runs away. He will fight until the very end, unless it's transparently clear that he and his have no chance of winning.

10. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?

Pranks, Jokes, Puns--he's a hedonist through and through--so if there's something funny worth seeing or discussing, bring it to him.

Maybe a bit of mild PTSD from having his brother die in his arms. It's fine. Life is perfect.

Losing all of his friends.

To find One Piece. To become the Pirate King. To live life as the freest man on the sea--and to take the entire world for what it's worth until the day he dies.

There's pretty much nothing he hides about himself. Not that his father is the world's most wanted criminal, that his grandfather is the 'Hero of the Marines', nothing. If you ask, he'll probably tell you. He's got nothing to hide.

RELATIONSHIPS

1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents.
His mother is a complete unknown--but his father is the head of the Revolutionary Army and the world's Most Wanted Man. He only recently found this out, however, as he wasn't raised by Monkey D Dragon, but rather, by bandits in the woods, and the townspeople his grandfather, Garp, left him with.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
He has two brothers--but neither of them are related by blood. They made a 'pact of brotherhood' by drinking sake together when they were Nine, Nine, and Seven. Sabo was believed to have died when setting out on a small ship to escape his life as a noble-born, so he and his other brother, Ace, made vows to each other to become the greatest pirates on the sea in Sabo's honour. Ace died when he was nineteen--only two years after setting out and becoming the head commander of Whitebeard's first warship--and it's left a deep scar on Luffy's heart. However, two years later in Dressrosa, he met up with Sabo, the brother thought to be dead. Together, they win the Mera Mera no Mi, the Devil Fruit containing Ace's old fire powers, and Sabo inherits his brother's will. Sabo is also the second-in-command of the Revolutionary army--directly under Monkey D Dragon himself.

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?

Monkey D Garp--his grandfather. Garp left him to be raised by bandits in the forest, and would often visit to help Luffy to train in fighting in order to one day become the 'World's Greatest Marine'. Instead, Luffy decided to become a pirate because of Red-Haired Shanks' influence.

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them?

HIS NAKAMA. Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Chopper, Robin, Franky, Brook, Jinbe. They're all people he's met along his way to find One Piece, and they're all precious to him--so much so that they're probably more important to him than his actual blood family.

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?

A toss-up between Zoro and Usopp. Zoro was his first mate, and the only member of his crew that he actively looked for to join his crew. The others met along the way were invited after he helped them or decided he liked them. Usopp, however, is the crewmate on his ship that's the same age as him, and therefore they get along really well. So much so that it's shown in canon that Usopp can influence Luffy into misbehaving or acting childishly alongside him like all best friends do.

6. Does he have other close friends?
Even if he won't admit it, Trafalgar Law. Law is the first person to ever ask Luffy into an alliance with him--a relationship that Luffy does not understand. So, as he's wont to simplify things to his own benefit, he's decided that this means Law wants to be friends and help him, and that's the story. He's sticking to it. While the simple and honestly stupid conclusion the surgeon realises later is one that he's often exasperated about, Luffy's saved his life more than once. He's also helped Law achieve his lifelong goal of taking down Donquixote Doflamingo--and is currently helping him to tear down the Yonkou, Kaidou. Hate as Law is to admit it, Luffy is slowly becoming an irreplaceable friend--and Luffy definitely considers Law to be one of his Nakama, too.

7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?

He makes friends extremely easily. Almost painfully easy. He's innocent to a fault, will help anyone who asks, and to put it bluntly? He's stubbornly decided in all of his actions. If he decides you're a friend? It doesn't matter what your feelings are about it. You're his friend. You can kick and scream and refuse all you want--he will wear you down with kindness or just plain refusing to acknowledge you don't want to be his friend.

8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends?

Friends. Friends are the family you choose.

Single, unmarried and probably going to stay that way. Who the fuck has time for relationships, there's shit to do.

You cannot crush him. He is Too Powerful. He will crush anyone who stands in his way.

BELIEFS

1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type?

Taurus. The most Taurus man in the world. Head down, knees bent, and straight ahead. Stubborn to a fault and completely loyal to those he calls his own. He fits his sign like that perfect jigsaw puzzle piece.

2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life?

Nope. Nope. No time for this shit.

3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?

Despite the fact that he's a pirate--which means he doesn't really HAVE morals or ethics--(so far in that he destroys a prison with the most heinous criminals in the world and lets them all out JUST to save one man)he's never actually killed a single one of his enemies. He's only beaten them down to a point where they can't get back up again, and then he leaves them to serve whatever justice takes ahold of them afterwords. Can't say the same about most other pirates.

4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?

If they're not HIS beliefs, they're just not important! That's all there is to it. He has extreme respect for people who hold something dear to them, like a treasure or a memory, and he won't get involved with other peoples' fights. But otherwise, his beliefs and the beliefs of his nakama are the only ones he seems to care about.

5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them?

It doesn't matter who you are. Pirate, Marine, regular sailor--even a fisherman. He doesn't have many prejudices, people just do what they want in life and he's pretty on board with that. He just doesn't care for the Marines--but that's fine. One of his friends are a Marine. And so is his Grandfather.

Given he has Nami on his ship? He's probably in debt.

2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him?

He's a pirate of the Worst Generation, and has a bounty on his head for 500 Million Beri. While he may have started out as a no-name, pretty rag-tag pirate with odd crewmates, he's now a man that a great many pirates in the New World fully believe will become the next Pirate King. He has the 'Will of D', and is capable of using the Conqueror's Haki, a power only usable by those with 'qualities of a Leader', after all.

3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?
AT SEA! He hangs his hat and rests his head on the Thousand Sunny, the ship of dreams built by his shipwright, Franky. It's his home just as the Going Merry was his home before she became too damaged to continue her voyage.

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?

Food. Food, food, food. Food. Food? Food.

5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else?

He's a Pirate. That's his living. He's very bad at it, given that the Straw Hats are notorious for you know. Saving entire cities, helping out entire town's worth of people, taking down notorious pirates and generally being heroes.

Adventuring and Partying. He also draws (Badly) and is often seen fishing.
